About the Team

Our Operations Team is at the core of autonomous vehicle testing, ensuring every mile driven meets the highest safety standards. We work closely with engineers and QA teams to bring cutting-edge technology safely to the real world. It's a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where precision and responsibility matter.

About the Role

As a Autonomous Vehicle Test Specialist you will bridge on-road safety driving with hands-on system testing. Beyond safe vehicle operations, you’ll execute structured test plans, capture detailed logs, and perform first-line validation of autonomous-driving (AD) software and hardware. Expect close collaboration with QA engineers and developers, leveraging basic Linux skills and command-line tools to pull logs, flash builds, and triage issues.

What You'll Do

  • Safe Vehicle Operation & Real-Time Oversight:

Drive or supervise autonomous vehicles, taking over control when needed.

Conduct pre-/post-shift vehicle checks and ensure all test equipment is operational.

  • Test Execution & Data Integrity:

Run scripted and exploratory test scenarios (urban, closed-site, edge cases).

Tag events, annotate anomalies, and maintain accurate digital logbooks.

Extract, verify, and securely upload and analyze logs using basic Linux/CLI.

  • First-Line Debug & Reporting:

Reproduce issues, capture repro steps, and summarize findings in the defect-tracking system.

Work with QA to prioritize bugs and provide driver-perspective context.

  • Training & Knowledge Transfer:

Mentor junior safety drivers on test procedures, toolkit usage, and safety culture.

Contribute to test-case reviews and process-improvement sessions.

What You'll Need

  • Valid driver’s license (3+ years clean record).
  • Proven experience in AD testing, automotive/multimedia testing, or related QA work.
  • Familiarity with Linux command line (e.g., ssh, grep, logs, USB flashing).
  • Strong written documentation skills; comfort with Jira or similar defect systems.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and in varied weather.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with engineers and team members.
  • High level of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ROS, CAN bus tools (e.g., CANalyzer), or drive-by-wire systems.
  • Prior work in robotics, HIL/SIL testing, or hardware-in-the-loop environments.
  • Experience with autonomous vehicles or vehicle testing is a plus.
  • Background in defensive driving, motorsports, or related fields.

Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.
