About the Team

AVRIDE is an autonomous driving company with the mission to make transportation safer and more efficient through cutting-edge technology. We hold a unique position in the market, developing self-driving taxis and delivery robots. Our delivery robot division already has production in the US and Japan. Our team consists of highly talented engineers with extensive expertise. Joining us means diving into a startup atmosphere and making a significant impact on the company's results and the autonomous industry as a whole.

About the Role

As a Design Engineer at Avride, you’ll take ownership of the mechanical design for our autonomous delivery robots — from chassis and structural components to sensor integration and enclosures. You'll work hands-on across the full product lifecycle, collaborating with top-tier engineers to bring high-performance robotic platforms from concept to production.

What You'll Do

  • Solely lead the design and structural development of autonomous vehicles, last-mile delivery robots, and high-performance automotive components.
  • Independently optimize chassis, suspension, and structural elements, ensuring maximum durability, minimal weight, and cost-efficient manufacturability.
  • Design sensor integration solutions, external panels, and composite enclosures, specifically for autonomous and electric vehicle applications.
  • Conduct and interpret finite element analysis (FEA), thermal, and vibration testing to ensure superior structural integrity under extreme conditions.
  • Develop proprietary rapid prototyping methods using 3D printing (SLA/FDM), CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and composite materials, driving innovation beyond industry standards.
  • Directly oversee manufacturing and fabrication processes at international facilities, guaranteeing seamless transitions from prototyping to mass production.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software, electrical, and manufacturing engineers, actively contributing to fully integrated system development.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in wheeled vehicles. Foreign equivalent is accepted.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Design Engineer specifically in automotive, robotics, or aerospace engineering, focusing on structural design, mechanical integration, and real-world product deployment.
  • Master-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA V5, AutoCAD) and FEA tools (ANSYS Workbench, Mathcad), with a demonstrated ability to create industry-leading designs.
  • Proven expertise in automotive chassis design, sensor mounting, and composite materials, with real-world implementation experience.
  • Strong hands-on background in CNC machining, welding, material selection, and advanced rapid prototyping techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience in structural validation, environmental testing, and performance optimization.
  • Direct collaboration experience with global suppliers and contract manufacturers, ensuring smooth production scalability.
  • Hands-on EV and autonomous vehicle development experience, particularly in high-performance automotive engineering.
  • Expertise in battery enclosures, thermal management systems, and high-strength lightweight materials.
  • Deep knowledge of automotive suspension design and real-world performance tuning.
  • Advanced proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Arduino-based control systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills, capable of leading innovation in a fast-paced environment.
