About the Team
AVRIDE is an autonomous driving company with the mission to make transportation safer and more efficient through cutting-edge technology. We hold a unique position in the market, developing self-driving taxis and delivery robots. Our delivery robot division already has production in the US and Japan. Our team consists of highly talented engineers with extensive expertise. Joining us means diving into a startup atmosphere and making a significant impact on the company's results and the autonomous industry as a whole.
About the Role
As a Design Engineer at Avride, you’ll design and optimize mechanical systems for autonomous vehicles—focusing on cooling, integration, and component layout. You'll lead development from concept to manufacturing, including hands-on testing and modeling.
What You'll Do
- Design and development systems and units of automotive car:
Perform overall mechanical design, including layout optimization, thermal management, and integration of electronic components (e.g., Main Computing Unit).
Assemble and optimize layouts for complex equipment, ensuring efficient thermal management and durable enclosures (e.g., components in the trunk compartment).
Develop advanced cooling systems, including freon-based solutions, and design reliable mounting and enclosure systems (e.g., underhood compartment)..
Design and mount specialized devices, such as camera enclosures, emergency buttons, and assemblies for glove compartment equipment*.*
- Research of Car & Main Computing Unit systems
Conducting experiments to study the parameters of vehicle systems (hydraulics, heat exchange).
Collection and analysis of operational data (temperatures, flow rates).
Development of mathematical models (thermal conditions and heat exchange).
- Supporting and overseeing manufacturing and assembly (manufacturing reports, assembly manuals).
- Conducting experimental research on cooling system components (prepare experiments, measure parameters of the heat exchange process, develop mathematical models, prepare reports).
- Developing the Main Computing Unit's cooling system based on the car's freon AC system (design, calculations, mathematical models, design documentation, assembly and maintenance manuals).
What You'll Need
- Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent. Foreign equivalent is accepted.
- 6 + years of professional experience in Engineering or equivalent.
- Advanced knowledge in the following areas: Strength of materials, hydraulics, heat exchange, materials, and technologies (with real-world application examples for production tasks).
- Experience in planning and conducting physical experiments (hydraulics and heat transfer), including setup of experimental equipment, development of plans and measurement tools, creation of methodologies for data analysis, and preparation of reports with conclusions.
- Practical experience in developing cooling systems: freon systems, heat exchangers, devices with heat pipes.
- Extensive experience in technical calculations, including practical experience in developing mathematical models in the fields of hydraulics, heat exchange, and static mechanical calculations. Familiarity with Matlab and Ansys..
- Proven expertise in prototyping, including proficiency in operating 3D printers, lathes, and performing skilled metalworking tasks
- Knowledge of project management and the ability to independently lead large-scale projects.
