About the Team

**AVRIDE** is an autonomous driving company with the mission to make transportation safer and more efficient through cutting-edge technology. We hold a unique position in the market, developing self-driving taxis and delivery robots. Our delivery robot division already has production in the US and Japan. Our team consists of highly talented engineers with extensive expertise. Joining us means diving into a startup atmosphere and making a significant impact on the company's results and the autonomous industry as a whole.

About the Role

As a Hardware Engineer at Avride, you’ll design and develop high-performance PCBs for our autonomous vehicles and delivery robots. You’ll work on complex, multi-layer board layouts, ensure electrical integrity, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring robust hardware solutions to production. This is a hands-on role where precision, innovation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration are key.

What You'll Do

  • Design PCBs and select components for cutting-edge autonomous cars and delivery robots, ensuring reliability in demanding environments.
  • Create schematic capture and PCB layout of high-density, multi-layer PCBs using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Create and maintain detailed PCB documentation, including fabrication and assembly packages (Gerber files, ODB++, Bill of Materials, fabrication and assembly drawings).
  • Contribute to a hardware team review process (schematic, PCB, SI/PI, release documentation reviews).
  • Add, edit, and maintain electrical components in design library (Altium Vault).
  • Work cross-functionally with Mechanical, Software, Firmware, Product, and Safety teams to understand and properly implement operational and functional product requirements.
  • Work with fabricators to resolve any PCB manufacturing issues.

What You'll Need

  • Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 8 years of experience as a circuit design engineer, with experience designing digital and analog board-level circuitry.
  • At least 8 years of relevant circuit and PCB design experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience with circuit design for high-speed interface, basic communication protocols, clock distribution, power supply etc.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Rigid Multilayer PCBs (up to 12 layers), Flex and Rigid-Flex designs. Understand the nuances/complexities involved in these designs.
  • At least 5 years of experience with HDI (MicroVia, BlindVia, Via-in-Pad), high layer count PCBs, low loss materials, and signal Integrity challenges with high speed (XFI, SFI, MIPI CSI, PCIe 4.0, USB SS, RGMII etc.) signal designs.
  • Knowledge of PCB stack-up and material design decisions for impedance-controlled and high-power needs.
  • Expertise in applying relevant IPC standards (class 2 and 3), CID and CID+ certification.
  • Strong proficiency using Altium Designer CAD.
  • Experience with design and verification tools: Altium PDN, LTspice, MathCad. Experience with use of CAM tools such as CAMtastic or CAM350.
  • Understanding of Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI).
  • Experience with ball-grid array and similar fine pitch, or high pin density components.
  • Hands on Experience in lab test equipment: variable DC power supplies, oscilloscopes, DC electronic load, signal generators etc.
  • Proven design experience with Nvidia’s Jetson System-on-Modules (AGX Orin, Orin Nano, Xavier NX).
  • Knowledge of PCB design and consideration for DFM, DFA, and DFT constraints. Knowledge in environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for Automotive and Industrial applications. Familiar with best practices to mitigate EMC/EMI issues.
  • Proficiency with soldering equipment and techniques, including surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole soldering. Ability to solder fine-pitch components and rework boards effectively.
