About the Team
**AVRIDE** is an autonomous driving company with the mission to make transportation safer and more efficient through cutting-edge technology. We hold a unique position in the market, developing self-driving taxis and delivery robots. Our delivery robot division already has production in the US and Japan. Our team consists of highly talented engineers with extensive expertise. Joining us means diving into a startup atmosphere and making a significant impact on the company's results and the autonomous industry as a whole.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer at Avride, you will build and maintain advanced visualization tools that make complex autonomous vehicle data clear and actionable. You’ll ensure system reliability, support sensor calibration workflows, and collaborate across teams to enhance the explainability and performance of our self-driving technology.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and support a comprehensive service dedicated to visualizing all key subsystems of autonomous vehicles and robots, including aspects such as sensing, perception, prediction, and decision-making processes.
- Take responsibility for setting up, configuring, and administering the visualization service within our technological infrastructure. This role requires careful monitoring to guarantee optimal availability and robust health monitoring of the system, thereby ensuring its reliability and performance.
- Actively work to continuously enhance the visualization service by providing state-of-the-art tools that facilitate the explainability of AI systems and algorithms. This enhancement aids all teams across the company, making complex systems more understandable and transparent, which is crucial for ongoing development and innovation.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and communication among both technical and non-technical teams. This involves streamlining development processes and integrating valuable feedback effectively into service enhancements to meet the diverse needs and expectations of all stakeholders.
- Promptly and efficiently address user requests and implement new features to support our startup's imperative to rapidly evolve and maintain a competitive edge in technology. This dynamic approach is essential for adapting to industry changes and satisfying user demands swiftly.
- Collaborate closely with the calibration team to equip them with the finest tools for performing high-quality calibration of cameras and lidars on both cars and robots.
- Focus on optimizing system performance and stability through rigorous testing, debugging, and benchmarking processes. This ensures that the service consistently meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency, which is vital for maintaining user trust and system reliability.
- Develop and implement robust error-proofing mechanisms within the software development lifecycle. This strategic approach is designed to minimize downtime and significantly enhance the reliability and uptime of the service.
- Manage and maintain several legacy versions of the service to ensure that users can operate seamlessly with old data until they are fully transitioned to the newer version of the service. This involves careful handling and support to avoid any disruption to user operations.
- Facilitate the migration of data to newer versions of the service, ensuring a smooth transition for users and maintaining data integrity throughout the migration process. This is a critical task that involves detailed planning and execution to ensure successful upgrades and continuous service improvement.
